Oklahoma City UniversityASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF OPERA AND MUSIC THEATRE/ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF MUSICTENURE TRACK POSITIONOklahoma City University invites applications for the position ofASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF MUSIC Teaching, Scholarship, and Service Requirements:The successful candidate will be expected to stage direct operas and musicals, teach acting and related Opera/Music Theatre courses, and assist with administrative aspects of an Opera/Music Theatre program with a national reputation for excellence. Other duties include creative activity and service on university committees. The candidate must demonstrate evidence of successful university level teaching. (((A master's degree is required))). Faculty members are expected to participate in the school's assessment program and in student recruiting and retention efforts for the school and the university. Commitment to excellence in teaching. Functional knowledge of foundational acting methodology such as Stanislavski, Meisner, and Laban. Knowledge of music and its relationship to stage production. Demonstrated experience in university and/or professional level opera and musical theatre stage direction. Evidence of successful university teaching preferred. The Bass School of Music:The Wanda L.
